Responsibilities
- Act as the primary receptionist, greeting visitors and directing inquiries to the appropriate department staff members.
- Manage high volumes of incoming phone calls, emails, and mail with accuracy and professionalism.
- Perform data entry tasks, including updating city records, filing permits, and maintaining digital databases.
- Assist the public with accessing city services, providing information on policies, fees, and procedures.
- Prepare and distribute official correspondence, memos, and reports.
- Operate standard office equipment, including copiers, scanners, and fax machines.
- Ensure the general cleanliness and organization of the front office and record-keeping areas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative, clerical, or customer service role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new software systems.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35-40 WPM) and excellent grammar and spelling.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a reliable method of transportation.
