As a Civil Engineer II, you will be instrumental in planning, designing, and managing municipal projects that ensure the safety and efficiency of our city’s utilities and roads.
Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, and water facilities.
- Compliance: Ensure all engineering designs and construction activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
- Technical Review: Review plans and specifications prepared by contractors and consultants for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and city departments.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and maintain accurate project records.
- Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and quality control.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, preferably within a municipal or public works setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant engineering software.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex engineering issues.
