Responsibilities
- Design and oversee transportation infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and traffic systems
- Analyze traffic patterns and data to develop engineering solutions for congestion and safety improvements
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for capital projects
- Conduct field inspections and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (FHWA, ODOT standards)
- Collaborate with municipal agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to coordinate project delivery
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources while maintaining compliance with procurement protocols
- Research and implement innovative transportation technologies and sustainable design practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering (ABET accredited)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oklahoma or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 3 years of transportation engineering experience with public sector or DOT projects
- Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, MicroStation) and traffic modeling tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO standards, and federal transportation regulations
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data and engineering specifications
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for presenting technical information to diverse audiences
- Valid Oklahoma driver's license with acceptable driving record
