Responsibilities
- Design and oversee highway/bridge construction projects in Sedgwick County
- Conduct traffic studies and recommend infrastructure improvements
- Manage project budgets and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations
- Coordinate with contractors, local agencies, and stakeholders
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and permit documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct site inspections
- Implement innovative solutions for transportation challenges
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of transportation engineering experience
- Kansas Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and traffic modeling software
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD and KDOT standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in dynamic field environments
