Responsibilities
- Design and oversee transportation infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and transit systems
- Analyze traffic patterns and develop data-driven solutions for congestion mitigation
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, plans, and specifications compliant with state/federal regulations
- Coordinate with contractors, municipalities, and federal agencies during project execution
- Conduct field inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Utilize AutoCAD, GIS, and transportation modeling software for project planning
- Stay current with emerging transportation technologies and sustainability practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of relevant transportation engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and transportation planning software
- Strong understanding of MUTCD, AASHTO, and MnDOT standards
- Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Valid Minnesota driver's license
- Experience with federal grant applications (FHWA/FTA) preferred
