Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and review of civil engineering projects including roads, drainage systems, water and wastewater facilities, and municipal infrastructure.
- Conduct field inspections and site visits to monitor construction progress, quality control, and adherence to safety codes and specifications.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and reports using CAD software and GIS tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Review development plans and permit applications to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage project budgets and assist in the preparation of grant proposals for infrastructure improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and engineering technicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
- Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Colorado.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering design and project management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, and traffic engineering principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced government environment.
