The City of El Paso is seeking a dedicated Public Works Inspector to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations on infrastructure projects. Join our team to safeguard public safety while delivering critical community services through meticulous field inspections and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public works projects (roads, drainage, utilities)
- Verify compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain digital records
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen complaints regarding infrastructure issues
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and permitting requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years construction inspection experience in government projects
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Inspector Certification
- Proficiency with inspection software (e.g., Accela, Cityworks)
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
