Responsibilities
- Maintain order and security within the facility through the observation and control of inmate behavior.
- Conduct regular security inspections of cells, common areas, and perimeter to identify and mitigate risks.
- Enforce facility rules, regulations, and inmate codes of conduct consistently and fairly.
- Document incidents, observations, and inmate activities accurately and in a timely manner using electronic reporting systems.
- Escort inmates to and from housing units, medical facilities, and work assignments.
- Respond immediately to emergencies, altercations, or medical crises following established protocols.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associateās degree preferred.
- Valid Kansas Driverās License and a safe driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including criminal history and drug screening.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to stand, walk, and exert physical effort for extended periods, including restraining individuals if necessary.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
