Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service with accuracy and urgency.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents using two-way radio systems.
- Maintain precise records of calls, officer locations, and incident reports in the CAD system.
- Monitor security cameras, alarms, and automated systems for the Police Department.
- Provide information, directions, and assistance to the public via telephone and in-person.
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-agency responses and special events.
- Ensure all communications comply with departmental policies and legal regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screen, and medical exam.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35 WPM) and proficiency with computer software.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
