Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming 911 emergency and non-emergency calls with high accuracy and urgency.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to the appropriate locations.
- Monitor and operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications.
- Access and update real-time information regarding incidents and city resources.
- Provide essential information and support to the public and other municipal agencies.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all dispatch activities and incidents.
- Collaborate with shift supervisors to ensure continuous coverage and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong computer proficiency and typing skills (minimum 35-40 wpm).
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Calm demeanor and the ability to remain focused under high-pressure situations.
- Valid Texas Driver's License preferred.
