Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident locations.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all calls and units dispatched.
- Monitor radio frequencies and CCTV systems for safety alerts.
- Provide information and assistance to the public via phone and radio.
- Assist in training new dispatchers during the training program.
- Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License and insurability required.
- Ability to type 30+ words per minute.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in stressful situations.
- Clean criminal background and drug screen required.
