Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for service with accuracy and urgency.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical personnel to incident scenes.
- Monitor radio communications and maintain real-time situational awareness.
- Enter and update incident reports, warrants, and criminal records into computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain logs and files in accordance with departmental policies and state regulations.
- Provide information to the public and other agencies regarding law enforcement matters.
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel and serving as a mentor during the trainee phase.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in typing and computer operations.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under high-pressure situations.
- Previous experience in a customer service or emergency services role is a plus but not required.
