Responsibilities
- Maintain security and order within correctional facilities during night shift operations
- Conduct regular inmate counts, surveillance rounds, and facility inspections
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with swift intervention
- Enforce institutional rules and document incidents using digital reporting systems
- Monitor surveillance equipment and access control points to prevent contraband
- Collaborate with day-shift officers for seamless transition of critical information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and drug screening
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Physical stamina to stand/walk for extended periods and respond to emergencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools
