Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police officers, fire units, and medical services with precision
- Maintain detailed records of all communications using CAD/RMS systems
- Remain calm under pressure while relaying critical information to first responders
- Monitor radio channels for real-time situational awareness
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during complex incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions via phone during emergencies
- Adhere to strict protocols and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- US citizenship and valid Louisiana driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (testing required)
- Fluent English communication with clear articulation
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS)
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
