Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities in correctional facilities during night shifts
- Conduct security patrols and headcounts to maintain facility safety
- Respond to emergencies and incidents per department protocols
- Enforce facility rules and maintain order among inmate population
- Document incidents and maintain accurate shift reports
- Operate security systems and control room equipment
- Collaborate with law enforcement and medical teams during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License
- U.S. Citizenship and clean background check
- Ability to work rotating night shifts and weekends
- Basic computer proficiency for report documentation
- Physical fitness to pass academy requirements
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
