Responsibilities
- Monitor incoming 911 and non-emergency calls, gathering essential information and dispatching appropriate units.
- Assist in the training of new dispatch staff and support senior dispatchers during peak hours.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all calls, dispatches, and officer status.
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communication equipment proficiently.
- Provide clear, concise instructions to officers in the field during emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with other emergency services (fire, EMS) to coordinate multi-agency responses.
- Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, prioritizing tasks effectively.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency.
- Ability to pass a background investigation, drug screen, and medical exam.
- Valid Missouri Driver’s License.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
