Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of county departments and implement strategic initiatives aligned with Phoenix's urban development goals
- Develop and manage annual budgets exceeding $10M, ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource optimization
- Lead intergovernmental relations with federal, state, and municipal entities to advance regional policies
- Coordinate emergency response protocols and disaster management operations for Maricopa County
- Supervise staff of 15+ professionals, fostering a culture of performance and innovation
- Analyze legislative impacts and recommend policy adjustments to county commissioners
- Implement digital transformation projects to enhance public service delivery efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in government administration or public sector management
- Proven expertise in budget management, procurement, and grant compliance
- Valid Arizona Driver's License and ability to travel throughout the county
- Proficiency in government software systems (e.g., Oracle Public Sector, SAP)
- Strong knowledge of Arizona Revised Statutes and municipal governance frameworks
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated success in public speaking and stakeholder engagement
- Certification in Public Administration (CPM or MPA) highly desirable
