Responsibilities
- Record Management: Accurately file, index, and maintain court records, including civil, criminal, and family law documents.
- Public Assistance: Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, answering questions and providing information on court procedures and case status.
- Data Entry: Process and input case information into the court's case management system with high speed and precision.
- Calendar Management: Schedule court hearings, manage dockets, and issue subpoenas and summons.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive legal information with the utmost discretion and adherence to privacy laws.
- Office Support: Maintain the courtroom environment, prepare exhibits, and assist judges and attorneys during proceedings.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or paralegal certification is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a legal office, court clerk, or administrative role is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and court case management software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Reliability: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
