Responsibilities
- Record Management: Accurately manage, file, and maintain court records, case documents, and legal correspondence in both physical and electronic formats.
- Public Assistance: Greet visitors, answer phone inquiries, and assist the public and attorneys with case status checks, filing procedures, and document retrieval.
- Legal Processing: Receive, log, and distribute legal summons, subpoenas, and court notices in a timely manner.
- Administrative Support: Maintain docket calendars, schedule court appearances, and prepare meeting packets for judges and clerks.
- Data Entry: Perform high-speed data entry and digitization of documents using case management software.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or Business Administration is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a legal, government, or high-volume office environment preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer navigation.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
