Responsibilities
- Record Management: Receive, index, and file legal documents, including deeds, judgments, and court orders, ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality standards.
- Public Assistance: Provide accurate information to visitors, attorneys, and litigants regarding court schedules, docket numbers, and filing procedures.
- Case Processing: Prepare and process court-related paperwork, including subpoenas, summonses, and writs, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
- Financial Duties: Accept and process payments for fines, fees, and court costs accurately, maintaining precise cash and transaction logs.
- Calendar Management: Assist in maintaining the court docket, scheduling hearings, and coordinating with judges and attorneys.
- System Operations: Utilize the county's Case Management System (CMS) to input data, generate reports, and track case status.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clerical, administrative, or legal support role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with case management software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
