Responsibilities
- Manage and file legal documents, court records, and civil filings with precision and adherence to Texas state guidelines.
- Assist the public and legal professionals with information requests, document retrievals, and general inquiries via phone and in-person.
- Perform high-volume data entry tasks to update court dockets, case management systems, and digital archives.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards regarding sensitive case information and personal data.
- Process payments for fines, court fees, and fines and issue appropriate receipts.
- Operate office equipment including scanners, copiers, and computers to digitize physical records.
- Collaborate with the judicial staff to ensure smooth daily courtroom operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate degree in Legal Studies preferred.
- Previous experience in a legal, government, or high-volume administrative office setting is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced, high-volume, and sometimes stressful environment.
- Knowledge of Texas court procedures, filing standards, and public records laws is a significant plus.
