Responsibilities
- Record Management: Accurately maintain, file, and retrieve court records, ensuring strict adherence to legal standards and confidentiality protocols.
- Public Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service to attorneys, litigants, and the general public by answering inquiries regarding case status and filing procedures.
- Document Processing: Prepare, certify, and issue various legal documents, including writs, subpoenas, and orders, with a high degree of accuracy.
- Cash Handling: Receive, verify, and process payments for fines, fees, and court costs while maintaining accurate financial logs.
- Calendar Management: Assist in the scheduling of court proceedings, hearings, and dockets to ensure timely disposition of cases.
- Office Operations: Maintain a professional and organized office environment, including managing correspondence and coordinating with other departments.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required; an Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or Business Administration is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a legal, government, or administrative office environment is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with case management software or database systems.
