Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting visitors, managing queues, and answering inquiries regarding vehicle registration, licensing, and titling.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently at the service counter, including cash handling, credit card payments, and check processing.
- Assist customers with completing forms, verifying documentation, and explaining complex DMV regulations in a clear and friendly manner.
- Operate computer systems to update customer records, process renewals, and issue credentials using the State's database.
- Manage incoming phone calls, route inquiries to the appropriate departments, and provide status updates when possible.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with all agency safety and security protocols.
- Identify customer needs and offer solutions or escalate complex issues to supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in customer service, reception, or a related administrative field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse population.
- Basic computer proficiency, including typing speed of 35+ WPM and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Must possess a valid Driverβs License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
