Responsibilities
- Monitor federal networks for security breaches and initiate rapid response protocols
- Implement and maintain advanced intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on classified systems
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate with federal law enforcement partners
- Lead security audits for compliance with NIST and FISMA standards
- Mentor junior staff on cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams during major cybersecurity exercises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in federal IT security roles
- Active CISSP or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight) and threat intelligence platforms
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Secret security clearance (must be eligible for Top Secret)
- Knowledge of FedRAMP and CUI compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work in high-pressure security environments
