Responsibilities
- Implement advanced security protocols to protect federal systems and sensitive data
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools and respond to incidents in real-time
- Develop and maintain security documentation including risk assessments and incident reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards
- Train personnel on cybersecurity best practices and security awareness
- Stay current with evolving cyber threats and defense technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Security+ CE or CISSP certification required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in network security or incident response
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST SP 800-53)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
