Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray screening equipment and walk-through metal detectors to identify prohibited items in carry-on and checked baggage.
- Pat-Down Procedures: Perform physical screenings, including pat-downs and the use of walk-through metal detectors, in a professional and respectful manner.
- Passenger Interaction: Communicate clearly with travelers to explain security procedures, verify identification documents, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Security Compliance: Adhere strictly to TSA security protocols, regulations, and standard operating procedures to ensure airport safety.
- Incident Reporting: Monitor the checkpoint for suspicious activity and promptly report any security breaches or irregularities to supervisors.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the daily maintenance and calibration of screening equipment and security technology.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a diverse team to maintain efficient checkpoint flow during peak travel times.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Clearance: Must successfully complete a background investigation and obtain the necessary security clearance.
- Health: Must be able to pass a medical examination and demonstrate the physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Background: No disqualifying criminal history or recent drug use.
- Experience: Previous customer service or security experience is preferred but not required; training provided.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
