Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-agency emergency response operations during natural disasters
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans for 200,000+ residents
- Lead public communication during crisis situations
- Manage grant funding and FEMA compliance documentation
- Train community stakeholders on disaster protocols
- Analyze risk assessments for coastal flooding and hurricanes
- Oversee emergency shelter operations and resource allocation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of crisis management experience in government or non-profit
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification
- Strong knowledge of NIMS/ICS frameworks
- Experience with GIS mapping and emergency software
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- Ability to work 24/7 during emergencies
- US citizenship and federal background clearance
