Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for desktop computers, laptops, and network peripherals.
- Manage and maintain user accounts, permissions, and secure access to federal information systems (NIAMS).
- Conduct regular system audits and inventory checks to ensure compliance with federal security standards.
- Document technical issues and resolutions in the Service Management System to improve internal processes.
- Assist in the deployment of software updates, patches, and hardware replacements.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff to troubleshoot complex network connectivity and hardware failures.
- Participate in cybersecurity awareness training and adhere to strict compliance protocols.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required for most federal positions.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; an Associate’s degree with equivalent technical experience will be considered.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and basic operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background clearance.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background investigation.
