Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Assist callers and walk-in visitors with inquiries regarding pension eligibility, benefit calculations, and retirement planning.
- Data Entry: Accurately input and maintain sensitive employee and beneficiary information into our secure state database systems.
- Document Processing: Review, file, and process pension applications, forms, and correspondence to ensure compliance with state regulations.
- Record Maintenance: Organize and maintain physical and digital records related to pension accounts and employee files.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot basic inquiries and escalate complex issues to senior staff while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Compliance: Ensure all processing adheres to state and federal government standards and privacy laws.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required. Experience in customer service, data entry, or administrative support is a plus but not a barrier to entry.
- Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn state-specific software quickly.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex policies to the public in simple terms.
