Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts using quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Prepare concise policy briefs and recommendation memos for senior leadership
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement sessions with government agencies, nonprofits, and industry partners
- Support grant administration and compliance monitoring for federal/state programs
- Track budget allocations and expenditure reports across departmental initiatives
- Assist in drafting public reports and presentations for legislative committees
- Contribute to cross-functional projects addressing housing, climate, and economic equity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 0-2 years of policy research, government, or nonprofit experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights
- Basic understanding of Washington State legislative processes
- Valid Washington State driver's license (may be required for travel)
- US citizenship or legal authorization to work in the US
