Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections and compliance audits for coastal industrial facilities
- Investigate environmental complaints and enforce state regulatory requirements
- Prepare detailed technical reports and enforcement documentation
- Collaborate with local government agencies on coastal protection initiatives
- Provide regulatory guidance to businesses and the public
- Monitor water quality and habitat restoration projects
- Participate in emergency response for environmental incidents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of environmental compliance or regulatory experience
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of federal/state environmental regulations (RCRA, CWA, CAA)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in field conditions
- Proficiency in GIS software and data analysis tools
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
