Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce environmental regulations across state-managed properties in San Diego County
- Conduct site inspections and compliance audits for industrial, agricultural, and recreational facilities
- Prepare detailed regulatory reports and documentation for state and federal agencies
- Develop and implement environmental management plans for public lands
- Coordinate with stakeholders including local governments, NGOs, and private sector partners
- Train staff and public on environmental compliance best practices
- Track emerging environmental policies and recommend regulatory updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance or regulatory enforcement
- Valid California Environmental Compliance Specialist certification
- Proficiency in environmental data analysis software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, EnCompass)
- Strong knowledge of federal (EPA) and California-specific environmental regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Ability to work independently in field settings and manage multiple projects
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
