Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of food establishments, childcare centers, and public swimming pools
- Investigate environmental health complaints and enforce public health regulations
- Develop educational materials for businesses and community stakeholders
- Collect and analyze environmental samples (water, air, soil)
- Prepare detailed technical reports and regulatory documentation
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams on emergency response preparedness
- Participate in public health outreach initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- 3+ years of environmental health or regulatory compliance experience
- Certified Environmental Health Specialist (CEHS) or eligible for certification
- Strong knowledge of EPA and Colorado state environmental regulations
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
- Valid Colorado driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends for inspections
