Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental policies aligned with California's climate action goals
- Conduct regulatory impact assessments for local government initiatives
- Facilitate community outreach programs across Oakland neighborhoods
- Analyze environmental data to inform policy recommendations
- Coordinate with state agencies and local government partners
- Prepare comprehensive reports for legislative committees
- Manage environmental compliance projects for public infrastructure
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field
- 3+ years of environmental policy or regulatory experience
- Strong knowledge of California environmental regulations (CEQA, RCRA, Clean Air Act)
- Experience with community engagement and public speaking
- Proficient in data analysis tools (GIS, R, or Python)
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders
- State government background preferred
