Responsibilities
- Process veteran benefit applications with 99% accuracy within weekly pay cycles
- Coordinate with regional VA offices to resolve documentation discrepancies
- Maintain strict compliance with federal privacy regulations (HIPAA, FERPA)
- Generate weekly payroll reports for departmental review
- Train new staff on VA systems and procedures
- Conduct data audits to ensure benefit payment integrity
- Collaborate with accounting teams to reconcile weekly disbursements
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum 2 years federal administrative experience
- Proficiency in VA systems (VBMS, VBA) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain
- Knowledge of federal pay regulations (5 CFR Part 550)
- Associate's degree in Public Administration or related field
- Experience with weekly payroll processing systems
- Ability to work under pressure with strict weekly deadlines
