As a Federal Benefits Specialist, you will serve as the primary point of contact for federal staff regarding their compensation, leave, and retirement plans. Responsibilities
- Manage and process federal employee inquiries regarding pay, leave, and benefits entitlements efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal regulations (FERS, CSRS, OPM) and internal company policies to mitigate risk.
- Conduct thorough audits of employee files to maintain accurate records and resolve any payroll or benefits discrepancies.
- Assist with the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless transition for new and departing federal staff.
- Collaborate closely with the payroll department to facilitate accurate and timely weekly disbursements.
- Provide exceptional customer service to federal personnel via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
- Stay updated on changes in federal labor laws and benefits legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in federal benefits administration, HR support, or payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of federal pay systems, leave management protocols, and benefits administration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations clearly.
- Proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and extreme attention to detail.
