Responsibilities
- Evaluate and adjudicate complex Social Security claims using federal regulations and policy guidelines
- Conduct thorough case reviews and verify applicant documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Communicate claim decisions professionally to applicants via written correspondence and phone calls
- Maintain detailed case records and ensure compliance with SSA quality standards
- Collaborate with medical consultants and vocational experts when evaluating disability claims
- Identify potential fraud cases and report suspicious activity to the OIG
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on SSA policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in public administration, social work, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of claims processing or customer service experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to interpret complex federal regulations and policies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
- Spanish bilingual preferred for serving diverse communities
