Responsibilities
- Monitor and protect DOD networks from cyber threats using advanced SIEM tools
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Develop incident response plans and lead security breach mitigation efforts
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other federal cybersecurity standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices
- Generate detailed cybersecurity reports for senior leadership
- Maintain active security clearance protocols and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of professional cybersecurity experience in government or regulated industry
- Active Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred)
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in network security tools (Splunk, Wireshark, Qualys)
- Familiarity with federal IT security frameworks and compliance requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain government-mandated security clearances
