Responsibilities
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal networks.
- Implement and manage security protocols to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Monitor network traffic and systems for suspicious activity, intrusions, or malicious code.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents, including forensic analysis and recovery.
- Coordinate with external security vendors and law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed audit logs.
- Provide security training and awareness to federal staff members.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance or higher (must be willing to obtain if current clearance is lower).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity or information assurance.
- Strong knowledge of network security principles and federal compliance frameworks (NIST, HIPAA, FISMA).
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and firewalls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
