Responsibilities
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal networks to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Implement and manage security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and identity management solutions.
- Monitor security systems 24/7 to detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats and incidents.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, incident reports, and compliance audit findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute security awareness training programs for federal personnel.
- Support the integration of new security technologies into legacy federal systems.
- Provide expert consultation on security architecture and risk mitigation strategies for government stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Clearance (or eligibility to obtain one) with favorable adjudication.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal cybersecurity, network defense, or information assurance.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and FedRAMP compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting.
