We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Federal Cybersecurity Analyst to join our mission-critical team in California. This role is specifically designed for a dedicated professional who prefers or requires a weekend work schedule. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of federal systems during non-business hours, protecting sensitive data and infrastructure from emerging threats.
Responsibilities
- Monitor federal networks, systems, and applications for potential security breaches and vulnerabilities during weekend shifts.
- Perform routine security assessments, configuration reviews, and compliance checks to meet federal standards (FISMA).
- Respond to and remediate security incidents, outages, and alerts with minimal downtime.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and VPNs.
- Document all security activities, incidents, and system changes in accordance with federal record-keeping policies.
- Collaborate with on-call teams and federal stakeholders to ensure 24/7 operational readiness.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one immediately.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or IT support.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, and switching protocols.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners.
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays as required.
