Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and monitor advanced security measures for federal networks and systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security gaps
- Respond to security incidents, including forensic investigation and remediation
- Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal security standards (NIST, FISMA)
- Provide security awareness training to federal employees
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and mitigation strategies
- Support security audits and compliance reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or IT security
- Active Security+ CE certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and network security tools
- Familiarity with federal security frameworks (NIST SP 800-53, FISMA)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (required)
- Strong analytical skills and experience with incident response protocols
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
