Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats targeting federal systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on government networks
- Develop and implement security protocols in compliance with NIST and FISMA standards
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams during incident response and disaster recovery
- Train federal employees on cybersecurity best practices and threat awareness
- Prepare detailed incident reports and security improvement recommendations
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and defensive technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in federal/government sector
- Active Security+ CE or CISSP certification (required)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight) and network security protocols
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- Strong analytical skills and experience with threat intelligence platforms
- Excellent written/verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences
