Responsibilities
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA/GINA compliance
- Oversee medical coding accuracy using ICD-10 and CPT standards
- Conduct health information audits for regulatory adherence (JCAHO/CMS)
- Develop/implement health data privacy protocols
- Train staff on health information management best practices
- Analyze health data trends for quality improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with clinical teams for documentation integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- 3+ years EHR system implementation experience
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare privacy laws
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10/CPT)
- Experience with VA VistE or DoD MHS systems preferred
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
