Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure electronic health records in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Coordinate weekend patient admission/discharge documentation workflows
- Perform quality audits and data integrity checks on health information systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during weekend operations
- Train staff on health records management protocols
- Support emergency weekend medical documentation needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- 3+ years experience in health records management
- Federal background security clearance eligibility
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Cerner)
- Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations
- Valid California Health Information Management certification
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts
