Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting Milwaukee's underserved communities
- Coordinate cross-departmental responses to public health emergencies and outbreaks
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends and resource allocation needs
- Manage a $2M+ budget with strict adherence to municipal fiscal regulations
- Lead interagency task forces addressing health disparities and social determinants
- Oversee compliance with federal/state health regulations and reporting requirements
- Mentor junior staff and facilitate community health education initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in public health program management
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Demonstrated expertise in grant writing and federal funding applications
- Advanced proficiency in health data analytics platforms (e.g., SAS, Tableau)
- Experience managing diverse teams in unionized government environments
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license with clean record
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish strongly preferred
