Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Process veteran medical documentation with 99.8% accuracy within 24-hour turnaround
- Coordinate weekend patient admissions and discharge documentation
- Perform quality audits for weekend medical records submissions
- Train staff on EHR system protocols during weekend coverage
- Support weekend telehealth appointments as medical documentation specialist
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- 2+ years experience with EHR systems (Epic/Cerner preferred)
- Federal background investigation clearance eligibility
- CCRS or RHIT certification required
- Weekend availability (Sat/Sun 6AM-4PM)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical coding (ICD-10/CPT)
- Ability to obtain VA facility security clearance
