Responsibilities
- Safeguard classified federal systems against cyber threats using advanced security protocols
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for government networks
- Implement NIST and FISMA compliance frameworks across federal IT infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams to develop incident response procedures
- Manage security monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS) and generate compliance reports
- Train federal employees on cybersecurity best practices and secure data handling
- Stay current on evolving threats and emerging security technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Active Security+ CE or CISSP certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Minimum 3 years experience in federal IT security compliance (FISMA/NIST)
- Proficiency with security tools: Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for technical documentation
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and network architecture
