Role Overview:
As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of federal information systems. You will ensure the integrity, security, and availability of data while adhering to strict federal regulations and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain federal network infrastructure and secure communications channels.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for federal systems and applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy federal systems and improve efficiency.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and risk analysis.
- Prepare and present detailed technical documentation and compliance reports to federal auditors.
- Train junior staff and stakeholders on new federal technologies and protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one (TS/SCI preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in federal or defense contracting environments.
- Proficiency with industry-standard technologies, including Cisco, AWS, Microsoft Azure, and virtualization platforms.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and familiarity with federal procurement regulations.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and excellent written/verbal communication abilities.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or PMP are highly desirable.
