Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for federal computer systems and networks, ensuring 24/7 operational uptime during the night shift.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to proactively identify and resolve potential security breaches or hardware failures before they impact operations.
- Configure, maintain, and secure federal databases and servers in compliance with strict government regulations and cybersecurity standards.
- Assist in the deployment of software updates, patches, and hardware replacements for federal staff working overnight shifts.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and system configurations in detailed logs for audit and training purposes.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to ensure seamless handover of critical system status and pending tickets.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this federal position (must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance).
- A minimum of 2 years of specialized IT experience in a professional environment, with a focus on network administration or system support.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Strong understanding of federal FISMA compliance and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by federal operational needs.
- Associate degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent technical certification) is preferred.
